The studio was founded in 1924 by Joseph Obermayer and in 1966 it was taken over by Maximilian Horngacher. To this day it is a family business where knowledge and experience is passed on from generation to generation. Thanks to their extraordinary attention to quality and the incredible sound of the Horngacher harp, they are today one of the most recognizable instruments among musicians worldwide. Each instrument leaving the Horngacher studio is built based on tradition, knowledge and experience and takes over 900 working hours to build. Only the combination of all these elements guarantees a unique sound of the Horngacher harp. Due to the uniqueness of the instrument, which the harp is, we offer our clients the possibility of using individual solutions and finishes of harps.
